Hi all

I got my PC watercooled by someone and after using it for a few months I began to think that my PSU maybe isn't capable of it since I can't really overclock it.
I got a I7-8700k at max 4.7Ghz and a RTX 2080 TI which reaches 1995 Mht, maybe 2010 Mhz at Max. when gaming.
My PSU is only a Corsair RMX750 and I think that is too weak because I got 5 SSDs and an M.2 drive in my system and 32GB of RAM.

So I thought of switching it for a RMX1000 but the problem is I got custom cables by Cablemod installed and everything is wired very nice and I got the question, can I just replace the PSU without chaning the cables?

If the wquestion is weird sorry I'm new to this

Best regards,
Manuel

Solution
750w is plenty, and the RMX750 is a good unit.
No, the cables are likely not interchangeable.

Look elsewhere for why you can't OC higher.

as of 3/22/2018
What % of I7-8700k chips can oc
at a aggressive vcore near 1.4 or so and delidded
4.9 99%
5.0 88%
5.1 54%
5.2 22%

Note the delidded caveat.

Your PSU is ONLY a Corsair RM750x? Well, you don't need to worry. A PSU upgrade is not required.

All RMx PSUs use the same cables.

But you don't need a new PSU. RM750x is more than enough.
