Hey guys,

So I'm looking to upgrade my current PC and first on my agenda is the motherboard. I'm looking for a mobo that has medium-high overclocking abilities, is ATX or mATX and has a 1150 socket on it. Also, what I've seen on some of the older mobos that I had, they had support for what I think is RAID (2 differently colored SATA ports) so I'm wondering whether new mobos implement this as well?

And another question, what would be the upgrade capability of such a motherboard, in terms of future processors? (as I imagine most of the other stuff won't change dramatically, besides maybe RAM, but I reckon I'll be fine with DDR3 for years to come - feel free to dispute me on this though)

Thanks for your help :)
Phil

The Ranger or the A should suit your needs (would love to get my hands on one - not available in the States, it's a little brother to the Hero), as far as down the road, yes the Z97 will be able to run the Broadwell Cpus when released
All new motherboards can do minimum of raid 0 and raid 1, most can do more advanced raid arrays.

What you want is a Z97 chipset board, Z series boards allow overclock and the 97 series will support the next generation intel cpu's.

For a more gaming performance oriented board that is not hitting the wallet too hard I would look at the gigabyte gaming 5 board or the ASUS Z97-A
