The question: Will this proposed upgrade be successful?

I've done a bit of searching on the forums and the answer seems to be "yes", but I am a memory newbie and am looking for direct confirmation.

I currently have: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM

I am looking to add: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-8GBRM

Same brand, timing, latency and voltage -- the only difference is size. I have a P7P55D Pro.

Thank you!

You have done your homework obviously.
Such an upgrade should work perfectly. I say should because sometimes, and inexplicably, nearly identical sticks don't work together, but fortunately that is the exception; you should be fine. Go for it!
