Hello there, I am planning to upgrade my CPU and GPU, these are my current specs :

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X
Cooler: Dark Rock Pro 4
Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX
Memory: DDR4-3200 (2x16GB = 32GB)
GPU: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GAMING X 11G
PSU: Corsair HX750i - 750W 80 PLUS Platinum
Computer Case: Corsair 680x

Two monitors :
1 - MSI AG32CQ (32") 1440p
2 - Random 1080p monitor

For the CPU I might go with a 5800X3D but for the GPU I have no idea for now.

What are your advices ? Is it worth it or should I upgrade to AM5 ?

Thanks

Nothing wrong with the 5800x3d it lets you keep the same motherboard and memory.
For the video card just for reference a 4070 will give you about 50% more FPS than your 1080ti depending on the game as nothing scales perfect. So if you were getting 100FPS in theory you could now get 150FPS with that card.

Your build is fairly balanced as is. A 5800x3D will go into that board with BIOS upgrade. You straightaway gain 15% to 20% without spending on new platform for AM5.
As for GPU, A 4070 will be good upgrade.

Hard to beat the 5800x3D. Video cards are ruff, due to the terrible vram and pricing off the 4000 series cards. If your playing at 1440P. Need to get a 4070TI, 6800XT, 6950XT, 7900XT. However I have had terrible luck with AMD video card drivers over the years and can't really encourage anyone to buy it. I know it's just my bad luck, but I had to pay the NIVIDA tax just to have a smooth driver experience in my mind. YMMV.

(not a fan boy, I have an AMD CPU in the last build and current builds).
