Upgrade CPU on Dell Motherboard 0gdg8y

I want to upgrade CPU on my Dell motherboard 0gdg8y. I saw a couple of threads on upgrading the CPUs to I3 Or I5 with Sandy bridge. My motherboard has Pentium R. I want to upgrade to I5. I have following questions

1. What changes will I need to upgrade to Intel I5 3570 from Intel Pentium R?
2. Does Intel I5 3570 should be Sandy Bridge?
3. What is Sandy Bridge?

Will this CPU work on my motherboard?

1. The BIOS needs to support it; I couldn't find evidence that it supports Ivy Bridge processors.

The i5-2400 is 100% compatible; the i5-2500 should also work (http://www.userbenchmark.com/System/Dell-Vostro-260/2972). The i7-2600 may work (http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/1870633), but here a poster claims that he ran into issues: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/p/19497687/20702534#20702534 It's your call; unless you need an i7, you probably should buy an officially supported i5 CPU.
