Is it possible for you to state the SKU for your prebuilt Dell? This thread may be of interest to you but before you purchase/upgrade anything it's best to follow up with teh SKU of your system. If you're having trouble with it and possibly the specs, you should download CPU-Z and take a screenshot of all the tabbed information.

Sorry i confused you, i am not having issues with the comp actually, in fact it works great,
The thread is of interest to me or i wouldnt have posted it,

I simply was curious like i tried to express can i upgrade the cpus,
I wanted to hear from people who have done it,

I was told that the Xeon X5687 will work,
I wanted to get feedback from people savvy with the t7500

Thanks

You can upgrade the T7500 CPU. I'm using an Intel X5680. You can also go to X5690. I got mine from servermonkey.com

There are a wide range of processors for the T7500 with the max being the 5690 and 5680 (different number of cores).

Hope it all helps.

Hey guys, I have a T7500 dual processor I bought in 2009 when they first came out, and I love it still. I put two X5570 Xeons in it, and it's still chugging along. I also added RAM and now have 48Gigs. I have a somewhat similar question: The motherboard of course accepts Xeon 5500 series processors, but I've also read that it accepts 5600s but I can't verify this. That's what I want to know. Can I put 5600s in it cause I'd like to have two of the six core processors. The motherboard is a Dell 0D881F. Does anyone know the answer? I would be very grateful. Thanks.

With a riser, the T7500 accepts two processors.

In either single or dual processors mode, the T7500 can accept the 56XX processor line. I have my T7500 using the 5680 processors.

I read you can use some of the E5xxx line, but when I looked at performance they looked to be the same as the 56xx line.

Sorry for resurrecting...
I am running two X5680 in a T7500 with a different Mainboard, however i just recently got another T7500 with a 0D881F mainboard, and was wondering if dual X56xx work on this one. According to some comments on riser boards on ebay (https://www.ebay.com/p/Dell-Precision-T7500-CPU-Memory-Riser-Board-W-Heatsink-Fan-H236f/1725012890 ) it seems that the 0D881F only supports dual X55xx, and not dual X56xx (only single)...

I was wondering if you managed to get two X56xx running on your system. (so that i dont spend money on riser and RAM unless i need to)

best regards, and sorry again for resurrecting
