Upgrade cpu or gpu first?

I got an Intel Pentium G3258 @ 4.2ghz
and a Saphire Radeon R9 270x.
My question is, should I upgrade to an Xeon 1231v3 first or upgade to sth like the r9 380 or r9 380x.
However I do nat want to upgrade my cpu in 1 year again thats why im going so high with it.

I would upgrade the GPU first.

I want to be ready for the upcoming games that means get higher fps.
So really only gaming

What are you doing with your build. If it's gaming then you need a GPU more likely, but if you are going for xeon then it is not gaming and you don't need a better gpu. But I would like to hear you say it.

Ok didn't read the only gaming part. So the xeon is useless when it comes to only gaming, basically it's an i7 without turbo boost and integrated GPU. So you need an i5.

Your current gpu is pretty decent. But if you want more fps go for a gpu.

The jump from a 270x to either a 380 or 380x doesn't seem like a big enough leap to make it worth while. However games are staring to really need a quad core. If it's up coming games you are thinking about I think a i5 would be best

But what makes an i5 better than the xeon i do not wanna oc so the 4690k is out.
I heard that the xeon is unbeatable for its price, it s basicly an i7 to the price of an i5

i5-4460 = 180 dollars
Xeon E3 = 240 dollars

Quite a big gap, and for gaming all you need is an Intel i5.
