Upgrade CPU or GPU first?

I am trying to find out what I should upgrade first on my PC. I currently have an AMD FX 8350 and an R9 270x. I realize that upgrading CPU would require a new motherboard as well, and I'm okay with that. I'm looking at possibly an i5-6500 or an EVGA 970 (EVGA GeForce GTX 970 GAMING ACX 2.0+). What would you do in my situation? I am a moderate gamer, so in the long run I don't really see myself truly needing anything better than a 970 (correct me if I'm wrong).

Solution
CPU+MB+RAM first.
Not necessary to upgrade GPU if your still using 1080p/60Hz or lower.
GPU upgrade only AFTER you have a better monitor in the vicinity of a 1440p/~120++Hz and higher. Take into account the PSU you have as well.
