I've had the same PC since about 2015 and I am a bit out of the loop in terms of components so, should focus on upgrading my CPU or GPU and what specific CPU or GPU I should consider getting. Currently I have a AMD FX 8320 for the CPU and a GTX 970 for the GPU. I am looking to stream as well. Thanks for any help!
Edit: I have about $350 ish to work with

Honestly, the 8320 is pretty long in the tooth. I'd consider going new CPU, board and ram.

Looking at benchmarks, it appears your gtx 970 is about the level of a gtx 1060 3gb or an rx 470/570. So something you'll want to upgrade at some point though.

I would probably suggest something like the ryzen 2600 or 2600x, a b450 board and 16gb of ram.

Not sure what you have for a power supply, but might be a consideration depending what unit you have now.

Okay I was looking at CPU's and came across the Ryzen 5 3600x and thought I could make that price work, what speed ram should I be looking at as well? Also go bucks!

With ryzen, you want at least ddr 4 3000 or higher. But the faster the better.

If you have the budget for a 3600/3600x, put it this way, the 3600x is pretty well equal to an i7 8700k. So that gives an idea how much of and upgrade it should be.
Thanks for the help, I needed up going with getting a Ryzen 5 3600 and 16 gb of ddr4 ram, its a night and day difference in games right now
