Hello!!!!!
I am thinking of updating my CPU. I currently have a 3.47 gigahertz AMD Phenom II X4 955, I was thinking of replacing this with a AMD FX8350. My motherboard is a M5A97 PRO Rev 1.

Would I noticed a big difference once upgraded?
I really only use lightroom and photoshop so is there any point in this or could I spend my money else where to speed up my machine?

Here is my system:

Windows 10 Professional
3.47 gigahertz AMD Phenom II X4 955
ASUS M5A97 PRO Rev 1
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
16mbs ram
2 x 1tb hard drives but updating this so OS and lightroom are on a SSD

Any help and advice is muchly appreciated

Adam

Yes, you will notice a significant improvement. The base clock of the FX8350 is s lot faster, and can be made faster still by overclocking, if you wish. Your motherboard is very good and will handle the power when (if) you overclock. The four extra integer cores in the FX modules will help too for what you are doing. I can't see any better place to spend $150 or so on your system to significantly improve performance.
