I had an old GeForce3 ti500 card that died so I called the manufacturer (VisionTech). Aparently they filed for bankruptsy and were bought out by some other company. The guy I talked said I could get a credit for my card towards another card. Here are the options he senmt me:

Xtasy 9800 Pro 128mb $299.99
Xtasy 9600 XT 128mb $199.99
Xtasy 9600 SE 128mb $129.99
Xtasy 9200 SE 128mb $89.99
Xtasy 9200 SE-128mb PCI $89.99

I will get a 40 dollar credit towards one of these cards.
Are any of them worth it? I don't really want to spend too much on a card( < 100). Should I get one of these or can someone suggest a decent budget card that might be an improvement on my ti500?

Thanks,
Greg

Do you live in the US?

If so you can buy these cards from stores like NewEgg for less.

The R9600XT is the only one close to street price, and the R9600SE and less are not as good as the card you had IMO.

If you really want to save money the R9600SE for $89 is OK, but I'd look around place like NewEgg or Pricewatch first.

You can get a 9800 pro for about 200 bucks from newegg which would be cheaper than the Xtasy one + the $40 credit and it will be a huge upgrade over your gf3. From that list and your with your budget the 9600se wouldn't be that bad and will probably offer comparable performance with your gf3. Still though, you can find 9600se's cheaper than that in online retailers.

oh, its a nice day. TO EAT CHILDREN!!!

These options suck.

You can get a 9600xt FOR $130 online... so why go to these guys and pay $159 after a $40 discount?

The 9600SE will be better than your Geforce3, but not much. Once again, you're going to be paying $89 for it, you can get 'em for $50 online.

The best bang for your the cheap IMHO:
A Radeon 9550 (128-bit not 64 bit!!!) for $65 or so all over pricewatch, faster than a 9600SE, and likely overclockable to 9600 PRO speeds (on the core at least).
Overclocked, the 9550 128-bit will give you a real huge leap over your Geforce3.
Hell, it'll give you a very noticable performance increase over the GF3 even at the stock clocks.
