Upgrade current build or build a new one???

Hi folks!
Thx in advance for your time and knowledge.

My current specs are
ASROCK 970 Extreme 3
AMD FX-4100 @3.8 GHz
nVidia GTX 660ti
8GB DDR3 RAM
Samsung Evo 500gb SSD/500gb HDD
500W PSU

I will upgrade my Gfxcard to a gtx780 (nice performance for low money) but im not sure about cpu. Should i stick with my AM3+ Mainboard and get a amd fx8350?
Or maybe invest in another Mainboard + DDR4 RAM + CPU (maybe pentium g4560 / xeon x5650 or any other strong but cheap cpu^^)

i dont mind to invest money but as you know its very easy to spend a lot in specs which end up worthless within no time

No sense in updating the FX line. The FX cores are slow and upgrading to FX-6 or FX-8 will give you 4/6 threads of equally slow cores.
To prove this to yourself, run this test:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.
Few games can make good use of more than 2-3 threads.
Here are some single thread passmark performance numbers:
FX-4100 1221
FX-6100 1185
FX-8320 1398
G4560 1984.

The word is out that the G4560 is a good budget gamer so sometimes the price is marked up from the initial $64 price.
Look for a G4600 if you need to.
A lga1151 motherboard will be around $50 and a 2 x 4gb DDR4 ram kit will be about $75, Speed is not important.

GTX780 us a good upgrade if the price is right.
But, it is older tech requiring a 6 and a 8 pin psu connector that is usually found on power supplies stronger than 500w.
