I want a Smalltalk side PC at my parents so i can work while being at Home.
I disassembled my First PC ever owned and want to slightly Upgrade it without changing too many parts.
It consists of a am2 Socket Motherboard (K9NBPM2-FID), 4x512 MB Memory, an AMD Athlon 64 X2 (ADA3800IAA5CU) and a Asus graphic Card (https://www.asus.com/de/Graphics-Cards/EAH4350_SILENTDI1GD2/).
I want to do Basic Office and maybe watch YouTube and other streaming Sites in it.
My Basic idea was to Upgrade the CPU,add 2 more GB or memory and call of a day. What CPUs would you recommend that i should consider of i only want to Spend a few Bucks? Got recommended a phenom 2 x4 940 somewhere else already, dunno if there are other options aswell.
I am living in germany, if this Matters in any way.
Most important question i have: for using am2+ CPUs, i have to update the bios of the mobo to the latest Version and then it will work? Did I understand that right?
