I just recently bought a used Dell Inspiron DM16 (3847) for $20 and the specs are below. I am looking to put some life into the PC and was just wondering on if these upgrades are worth it.
CPU: i5 4440 3.1ghz (turbo 3.3ghz)
Ram: 8gb 1333 or maybe 1600?
I am thinking to upgrade these:
SSD: Silicon Power 512gb - $55
GPU 1: GTX 750 ti - $55
GPU 2: RX 460 - $70
GPU 3: 1050 ti - $120
CPU 1: i5 4690/k - $60 - $70
CPU 2: i7 4770/k - $110 - $130
CPU 3: i7 4790k - $150
Ram: 16gb 1600 - $50
The SSD is absolutely a must upgrade and maybe I'll get 16gb of ram too but I need opinions on the GPU and CPU. I don't want to spend too much cause these are old platform. I just want to bring some life into this $20 PC. This PC will be used for light/moderate gaming such as Guild Wars 2, Dota 2, Diablo 3 (maybe 4 when it comes out), Fornite, etc...
I know the GPU is bounded to the ones that doesn't require external power because the Dell PSU isn't good enough
The CPU I know I should get the non K because overclocking is not an option but when it comes to used parts, I take what I can get in terms of availability and whichever is cheap
