How can I upgrade 6.4 mediaplayer on NT
I need a newer one to play some videos

No you don't.
All you need is the codecs.
Check out www.divx.com.

Even if you upgraded to W2K so you could use the latest
version of WMP you would still find that some things won't
play unless you get additional codecs from a place like DivX.
