Currently have an i3 -4570 @3.20 Ghz (LGA 1150) / GTX 1050 / 8 gig Ram

The Steam Oculus "checker" suggests I upgrade the Graphics card. The stated min spec for the CPU is a 4590... Upgrade suggestions? Don't want to break the bank, the RIft wasn't cheap but looks like the PC needs some more oomph to make it worthwhile...
Thanks...

Did you try the Oculus S yet?

If not I'd get it up and running, from there try some demos and see how it performs. While your doing this run HWmonitor in the background to check usage but honestly your probably going to need to upgrade the CPU & GPU or severely lower the graphics to make sure it's smooth and you don't experience motion sickness. If it runs poorly even on lower settings then return the Oculus and use that $400+ to upgrade your current system.

VR does run smooth with these specs (or an RX 580). *By smooth I mean just gaming normally, trying to game on Bigscreen or a similar program is difficult to run and requires a significantly more powerful GPU to do (Division w/1080ti required me to lower the settings from Ultra to...

Thanks for the response. It's a Xmas gift for my son so I'll have to wait a bit.
That 1650 is a good deal !

Yea the 1650 Super is a solid card for the price, performs close to the RX 580 with a less power draw so you'd be less likely to have to replace your current PSU.

Just make sure that the return period overlaps Xmas as you don't want to be stuck with something you may not be able to use properly. It is pretty easy to get up and running, perhaps there would be a full day your son isn't home so you could try it yourself?
