Hello everyone,

im thinking about upgrading my rig, i have like 300 euro (im from poland [300euro ~1200zł] so the parts prices might be pretty similiar) for it + the old part prices. This is my actual rig:

CPU: i5 2500k @4.5ghz
GPU: GAINWARD GTX670
RAM: OCZ 3x2gb 1600mhz ddr3
PSU: OCZ 600w
HDD: 1TB Western Digital
SDD: 240gb iridium pro
MOBO: ASUS P8Z68-V LX

I'm thingking about changing the gpu to 1060 6gb, because the actual one is pretty loud and its really annoying. I know that for the cs and stream better is to get an i7 but im confused. Problem is that upgrading the cpu will cost more because of motherboard and ram upgrade. An additional plus might be that i can deduct the tax for the hardware, around 23% of every part.

GPU upgrade to a GTX 1060 6GB sounds tempting especially since you want a quieter card. But for streaming you would no doubt get a lot out of a stronger CPU, Ryzen would be something i would strongly consider for this type of work. You can get something like a Ryzen 1600 which is a 6 Core / 12 Thread CPU for cheaper than an i7 and have something very capable of Streaming and improving your performance in Games overall. You will indeed need a new Motherboard and DDR4 RAM but in the long run it will be well worthy upgrade. Having more RAM would probably help a lot with recording and some games anyway since you currently only have 6GB. Hope this helps :)

Your very close to having a enough for a Ryzen 1600, B350 Motherboard and 8GB DDR4 RAM:

(This is in Germany, closest you can do on this site).

From what i've seen they are very close, the biggest benefit is you can Overclock pretty well with the stock cooler and you don't need a exensive board like Intel which you would need a Z series board, K series CPU and aftermarket cooler (the K don't come with a stock). I'm just assuming you Overclock based on your current 2500K being OC'd. If so, an overclokable Ryzen 1600 seems hard to beat in my opinion, especially at your budget. But if not, here is a Intel build for reference. If you want to OC this is going to cost at least 400 euro with a 7600K, Z270 Motherboard and decent cooler. If not, it's a good modern pairing:

On my i5 i got a Thermalright HR-02 Macho 120 cooler so i dont think i need to upgrade it, dunno how it will work with ryzen. I gonna oc for sure, im not only sure if i need a z motherboard to oc a intel K processor, if not i could make a little budget on the motherboard. As i said you can substract around 23% from every part. I can give some polish pcpart website so you can take the parts in zlotis 😀
Have on mind that i would like to stream so the minimum should be an i7 for this. Theres also the most important question upgrade the cpu or the gpu?

For Streaming, the CPU would be a great choice. The GTX 670 is more than capable of CS and plenty of modern games at decent settings. You do indeed need a Z270 board to Overclock on Intel 7th gen, you can't at all without one. I have however confirmed that your cooler supports Ryzen they list it on their site > http://www.thermalright.de/media/pdf/manual_am4_en.pdf. An i7 would be excellent for Streaming but i don't think you'll get one in the budget since it's 300 euros on its own.

Yup the 6th gen need a Z170 Motherboard to Overclock, however from what i have seen the Z170 boards are quite cheap after 7th gen launched. You could try do some browsing and see what you can find, your current cooler should be perfectly enough for a 6700K with a modest Overclock.

Your cheapest & simplest upgrade would be to replace your current i5-2500K with the i7-3770K. You should be able to OC it just like your current i5, & the extra threads will help with streaming. You'll also want to replace your RAM -- 3 sticks means you're not operating in dual-channel mode, & 6GB is probably going to throttle you a bit on streaming. Go for at least 6GB (2x4GB sticks), if not 16GB (2x8GB sticks).

Solution
Well, you managed to get your i5 up to 4.5GHz, so (depending on the silicon lottery) I would expect you could get close to that with the i7. And since your budget was 300 euros, you're going to have problems upgrading the CPU and the motherboard and the RAM and the GPU for that budget. Not to mention that, in a lot of apps & benchmarks, the Skylake & Kaby Lake chips aren't really outperforming the Ivy Bridge chips by a whole lot (maybe 10-15% tops)...& I suspect the higher clocks of the former may be contributing factors.

I dont want to upgrade all stuff, its the cpu with the platform or the gpu and as i said you can add to those 300 euro prices of the old parts + u nad substract 23% of every new part price.
