Current specs

GTX 1070 Ti
i5 6600 3.3ghz
Gigabyte GA-Z170
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB 3000mhz
144hz 1440p Montior

I find that my performance in more CPU
intensive games (open world/battleroyale) is beginning to drop and I want to replace my 6600 with a max budget of €300.

I've been heavily considering the Ryzen 5 3600 and it seems to have amazing performance for the price, do you reckon I will get a decent increase in performance with this upgrade?

Also will my 3000mhz CL15 ram be ok for a Ryzen 3600 as I have read that the ryzens love high ram speed.

Any other suggestions welcome.

Solution
You can't go wrong with a 3600, and your memory would be fine, but consider seeing if you can find an i7 7700K for a reasonable price. It would bring a significant boost in more CPU demanding games.

Around an 7-18% bump overall. Games that you are thread limited in currently should see greater uplift.

Yep.
