Hi, my PC specifications are as follows:

Motherboard: MSI, MS-7673
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz
PSU: DSA450S-G, 450W
HDD: 1TB, WD10EARS-00MVWB0
RAM: 6GB

I have an Nvidia Geforce 520 GT and want to upgrade to 570 GTX.
I read that the 570 GTX needs 550W but I was wondering if it would still work...

I tried checking it on this site and it seems to be fine: http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine

I need help from you experts :)
Thanks

Channel well is a tier 3 unit; ok, but not great.
If it has the two 6 pin power leads, it should be OK.
If you need to use molex to 6 pin adapters, I would not.

GTX570 is several generations old. A good card in it's day.
You would get a great upgrade with a more modern GTX750ti superclock which would certainly work.
It would take a synthetic benchmark to tell any difference in performance.

Hmm... So assuming I can plug it in easily without any complications it should be good to go...?
Well yeah I know the card's pretty old but the thing is I get it for free and I don't plan on playing crazy high-end games (since I'm still missing on quite a few games that could work with this card on ultra settings :) )

how much are you paying for the gtx570? how big is your computer case?

your power supply is weak and only has a single 6pin pcie power pin. the 570 will need two of these power pins, and more amperage on the 12v rail. you would be much better off getting a gtx750ti since it draws about 1/4th the power of the 570 but in games will perform similar.

you can either get a new power supply like the xfx ts 550w bronze for about $45

or just go with the gtx750ti for about $120

your cpu is still very high performance and does not need replacing any time soon. as long as you have a good power supply and room in your case for a enthusiast video card, you have a solid rig.

My brother is buying a new card so I'm thinking about using his so I don't actually pay anything... I can't afford much currently...
That's what I was worried about that according to this table

I'm not so sure if it actually gets even less than 450W...
So would it mess everything up?

I know my CPU is really good for now so I wouldn't want to replace my whole PC for something else...

Alright I'm getting Antec 600W VP600P is it any good?

How much are you buying it for?

About 77$ I'm pretty sure it's more expensive here than the US or something but I don't mind since it's cheap comparing to other PSUs...

But forget the price... will it do?

Yup it will do :)
