Hello guys, I have a this rig:
AMD FX(tm)-8150 Eight-Core Processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 2GB sli
Sabertooth 990fx r2.0
16GB ram 1800mhz

So, I got the 2 770 really cheap. Now I want to upgrade my pc, some games dont run so smooth on high or ultra settings, (I use a full hd monitor). I was wondering if its worth it change my mobo and micro or just upgrade the micro, after that I will try to upgrade my vga.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
If you replaced your CPU with a FX 8350, which is about $100, you should see some improvement. If you want to build a new machine, then you should either wait for Zen or just get something like a Skylake i5 or i7, requiring pretty much a whole new system.

8350/8370 will help (also raise resale value over the older 8150....If that doesn't suffice then depending on what all you do with the rig, look to an i5 or i7 based build. Zen would also be an option, though I doubt it will match up to current Intel specs. AMD tends to over-hype most everything and tend to fail to deliver. I'm hoping it will be good, but am not holding my breath 😉

Oh, and 2gb cards will also not perform as well if you are using 1080p or larger. 4gb cards are better, since it allows more textures to be loaded into vram (over hdd on a 2gb card, which is MUCH slower), and therefore increases performance.
