Hello, I have an Asus PB278Q. I really want an upgrade and can drop up to $800.

I tried the Asus PB287Q and it has an awful white hue, so something else. 20% games and 80% spreadsheet/microsoft word.

Let me know what you think. 27" - 34" I don't really care. I really just want the sharpest most beautiful image I can get... oh and games are nice.

Thanks!

IPS Glow and backlight bleed are common amongst IPS and AHVA IPS panels.

If this bothers you, I would suggest looking at VA panels. They offer nearly 3x or more the contrast of IPS panels (3000:1) and have some pretty great colors.

Check out some 32" VA panels like the S32D850T and the BL3200PT.

Fast IPS panels are great for gaming and still looks awesome (though the only improvement over your 278Q in terms of image quality would be response times and refresh rates). All AHVA panels have some degree of backlight bleed or IPS glow unless you get lucky. So if its the white/yellowish glow in darks scenes and backgrounds that bug you, I would stay clear of IPS/AHVA.

Asus PG279Q is kinda out of budget and also this particular monitor is facing Backlight Bleeding problems (severe ones).
Asus PG278Q is TN Panel Monitor and he mentioned that he does only 20% gaming, so IPS Panel monitors are a must for him.

BL3200PT has IPS panel not a VA Panel. And the S32D850T is not at all optimised for gaming. Its a pure Samsung monitor for Media Viewing and Designing. its mostly for professional work. I was a little busy and couldn't do much research but correct me If I'm saying anything wrong.

The S32D850T and BL3200PT are both VA panels. They share the same AU Optronics M320DVN01.0 AMVA panel.

The S32D850T is fine for gaming, Response times produce minimal blurring, if any. He also say its 20/80 split between gaming and productivity related work. The panels you mentioned are very specialized gaming panels (144Hz adaptive sync) and are prone the BLB and IPS glow, which he specifically mentioned is an issue with his PB278Q.

I think a VA panel would be a very good fit. I've also owned the XB270HU, XG270HU, and XB280HK in the past. I currently own the S32D850T, its fanstastic for gaming. I use it all the time.

Cool bro, i'm with you but he should rather go for BenQ BL3200PT as you have the S32D850T and you both better dont become those Same-Pinch guys :3
BenQ Finalised? Anything else you have to say? BTW Its the first time I got defeated in a Monitor based debate. Nice to meet you anyway bro.
