Upgrade from gt 1030 old or new card?

I have a gt 1030 in my second gen Intel(yes I know its old) system I am looking at GTX 1050 / 1050 ti. is there an older card I should consider? Should I look at an AMD card if so which one?

Actual model name of PSU would be important.
But if it's quality model, then you could go for a better graphics card also - GTX 1060.
If you had high refresh rate monitor, then GTX 1070, GTX 1070 ti.

I was looking at something a little cheaper than 1060 may be an older card.

GTX 960/970/980 (If you can find them for good price).
From amd side, ehh they are almost nuclear reactors (200W TDP), only RX 460/560 and up would be good.

You can buy a GTX 980 TI, which is about 250$ at eBay. And a GTX 980 TI is as fast as GTX 1070.

Older cards will be second hand think you're aware.

Next gen down from the level of 1060 is a 980. Then 970, then 780Ti, then 680, then 760 then to a 660Ti.

1050Ti if thats what you can afford would be the best way, least it's new and more efficient and is about GTX 760 level.

^^^ I agree with this, also if you wan't to buy a second hand GPU make sure it wasn't used for mining.
