Hi there! I'm looking to upgrade my build. Specs as far as i can remember:
Intel quad core I5 3570k 3.4 ghz/3.8ghz
4gbx2 ram (8gb)
Geforce gtx 750ti
Some sites say my graphics card is the weakest link while others say I should increase RAM. I've got a budget around $200 so what do you guys think? Thank you for the help everyone!

You aren't expecting that games so old will be smooth 60FPS @4k are you?
Those things were made to run slowly, because rigs weren't nearly as powerful as they're now.

Just because you throw a 1080Ti to run Tibia or Baldur's Gate it doesn't mean those will run at very high FPS you know...

Nevertheless, a 1060 6GB over your 750Ti would be a whole new experience, it's much better in anything.

Pretty standard CPU + RAM combination, any improvement on those wouldn't make a world of a difference, would benefit yes, but not by much.

Just as stated above, try to get a 1060, preferably the 6GB, but if it's out of your reach, either a 1060 3gb or lastly a 1050Ti 4Gb...
Those will give you already a pretty decent boost in FPS.

Most current games recommend 8GB of it, getting more than that would be just future proofing. But it wouldn't future proof myself with a third gen Intel instead of getting a whole new platform like CoffeeLake or Ryzen, so definitely the GPU is a better choice.

If you're gaming at 1080p in newer games you'll benefit from a videocard upgrade more than anything. The 750 Ti was entry level...over 3 years ago. It's less than entry level now. For 1080p a 1060 3gb will do nicely. Sure a 6gb would be better, but that's a lot more money due to the videocard/mining situation.

As an example, anybody ever play planetside 2? I played it recently and reset the graphic settings back to default, which I would assume is roughly medium setting. Planetside 2 is an older game, gotta be pushing 10 years now and I never got above 35 fps. Usually low 20s and even in the teens when it was a demanding moment. And I can tell you internet service is not an issue at home, I get 80-120 mbps down and 40-50 mbps up. Really think a new gpu would drastically increase those stats? I really appreciate the help everyone!
