Upgrade from hd 7770 300$ Budget

I'm thinking about the gtx 970 but thats 350$ max I can spend is 320$ unless the performence on the gtx 970 is worth it Ill push to 350 - 370$ but I'm trying to see if a card can be near as good as tthe gtx 970 but 300$

It s worth . GTX 970 is 3.8x faster than HD 7770 and has 4GB VRAM . Moreover GTX 970 draws less power - reference one up to 145W but R9 290(X) draw 250W at least . Hence less heat as well .

GTX970 is amazing bang for buck, it's absolutely worth it if it's only hinging about 30$ or so.
It beats just about anything in it's price range and has 4GBs of VRAM, which you'll need for newer games.

I would get it.
