Is the upgrade worth it from HD 7970 to RX 570 for 1080p gaming?

My specs:

Asus ROG Strix X370
R5 1600
2 x 4gb G skill 3200mhz Ram
550w Super flower 80 plus silver
24 inch AOC 75x free-sync 1080p monitor

Doesn't seem like that much of a jump in PUBG to justify going only to an RX-570. Depending on the particular HD7970 and RX-570 it might only be 20 to 30% (it's 21% in the above as in 46/38).

30% seems the best guess though as I quickly looked and the GTX1050Ti seems to be slightly faster than an HD7970 GHz card.
Maybe?
You can expect roughly 50% higher FPS at the same settings or increase the graphics quality at same FPS (or some combo).

Use GTX1050Ti in place of HD7970 (close enough): https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Sapphire/RX_570_Pulse/30.html

My personal rule of thumb is 100% increase (2x) minimum. I jumped up to a GTX1080 from a GTX680 and was actually surprised how many games didn't feel much better (though I'm very good at TWEAKING game settings).

So it depends a lot on the games you play.

Personally I'd hold off for:
a) prices to drop more, and
b) newer GPU architecture (or at least a good VEGA 56/64 card like Asus Strix if going AMD to use Freesync)

AFAIK Freesync for gaming doesn't work with the HD7000 and previous generation cards either. I believe you need an R9-200 or later series.

Also, to get LFC (Low Framerate Compensation) to avoid issues below the low-end (i.e. 30 or 40FPS depending) such as screen tear or stuttering the max/min ratio for the Hz range needs to be 2.5x or higher.
https://www.amd.com/en/products/freesync-monitors

Such as 30Hz to 75Hz (in which case 29FPS becomes "58FPS" by resending each frame rather than kicking you out of Freesync until you go above 30FPS again in the case of 30Hz to 60Hz range with no LFC).

THIS MONITOR-> AOC G2460VQ6

If your monitor has a narrow Freesync range of 48Hz to 75Hz so no LFC... in that case I would strongly recommend tweaking some games by setting an FPS cap of say 60 to 70FPS then tweaking the game settings so you rarely drop below 48FPS... that would then mostly keep you in Freesync range without going ABOVE or BELOW (if VSYNC OFF is the default that just causes screen tearing).

If I was playing say SKYRIM then I'd definitely do it that way. Possibly not for a fast shooter where perhaps you want 100FPS+ even though you'd be getting screen tearing. It's all a trade-off between responsiveness and visuals.

Sorry if that's confusing

Thanks for info. Yes I realized the HD7970 freesync not available. Not a train smash as I was always going to upgrade to a newer AMD card.

I mostly play PUBG and sometimes CSGO. Currently on low settings on PUBG I'm getting 70-80fps. The reason for upgrade mostly is the HD7970 fans have started to make noise and runs hot at 85-90d and of course a compatible card for freesync.

50% higher fps is pretty decent upgrade.

Unfortunately the RX Vega 56 is not an option as it way overpriced.
