Question Upgrade from i5-3470 3.2 ghz to I7-4790k ghz

Upgrade from i5-3470 3.2 ghz to I7-4790k ghz

I have a Dell optiflex - 7010 SFF which currently has i5-3470 3.2 ghz ivy bridge. (Ivy bridge 77W Socket 1155LGA, Mother board 0WR7PY A02 southbridge Q77) I am planning to upgrade to the following order:

1. Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0 GHz Quad-Core (BX80646I74790K) Processor
2. Intel Core i7-3770S 3.10GHz 1MB/8MB LGA1155 Ivy Bridge CPU

If I have to go for 1st choice is this compatible with my existing rest of the hardware. I don't want to over spend on any other like cooling system. Any advice will be strongly appreciated.

You cannot upgrade to the 4790k. It is not compatible with any motherboard that the 3470 (Ivy bridge) works in. You can upgrade, maybe, to the 3770S if your motherboard supports it which most likely it does. If you upgrade to the 3770s you may need a better cooler than what you have working on the 3470, although technically it's probably the same stock cooler for both units. I'd first see if the cooler you have works well enough or not before upgrading to better cooling unless money is not a problem and you can afford to do it right away. You'll be limited by the size of your case to shorter coolers though.

I have Delta BFB1012H 97mm 33mm Blower 12v Dc Ball Brg Cooling Fan 3 Pin Brushless & Heat Sink 0637NC. Is this good enough for 3770s? Can I go for I7-3770K?

That's a laptop cooler. You can't be using that with a desktop. At least based on what I'm seeing via Google search. No, you need a GOOD cooler. Minimum recommended cooler would be something like the Gammaxx 400 or 212 EVO. If you can't afford the cooling, don't get the CPU, because you'll just create problems for yourself.

I have the Heat Sink 0637NC [ Dell Heat Sink with Fan for Optiplex 7010,9010,790,990 SFF (FVMX3,637NC,J50GH)]. Will this fan suffice for the 3770s? Can I go for DELL OptiPlex 7010 9010 9020 Cooling Fan & Heatsink 89R8J CN-089R8J (cost $7 on ebay used). Is I7-3770K compatible with my motherboard?
