Upgrade from i5 4460 to Ryzen 5 1400 worth?

Hi guys, currently I have an i5 4460 and planning to upgrade to ryzen 5 1400. is it worth?
Does the ryzen 5 still good for gaming in 2018? Thanks

Ryzen 5 1400 is 4core/8thread cpu. You can get the same config with i7-4790.

Check pricing. If you can get i7-4790 for less than Ryzen 5 1400 + Ryzen motherboard + DDR4 ram, then choose i7.

Yes. It' s still very capable gaming cpu.

Thanks!! Can you recommend a good LGA 1150 mobo? cause I have a GA H81M DS2 mobo and it is a small mobo for a nzxt s340 elite;.

The 4460 is ok but also depends on what you want. If you want to play the latest AAA games at 100fps+ then no it not going to do that. If you want the latest games to run at a minimum of 60 fps it won't do that either but if your happy with 50-60 fps average and in some games your will see drops lower than 50 fps then yes it can do that.

So good for gaming depends entirely on what is your definition of good. As long as you don't expect too much all games should be playable. It is however a 4 year old i5 that was at the lower end of the i5 range when new. With modern games starting to benefit from more than 4 cores/threads these older i5's show their limitations.

Yes - size is irrelevant here. If the motherboard satisfies all your connectivity/feature requirements, then there' s no reason to change it.
