Upgrade from i5-4690k to R7 1800/1800x?

I make videos very often at 1440p 60fps. I currently have a GTX1080 and I currently record with Nvidia Shadowplay but I want to change that to OBS Studio because Shadowplays bitrate quality isn't my favorite. Since I only have 4 cores, using OBS x264 Encoding causes major lag and I'm assuming thats the core count. IF I were to get the 1800x how significantly would my render times be lowered and would that solve my encoding issue? I'm more consered on render times since currently a 20 minute 24mbps video @1440p 60fps takes around an hour+ to render.

I'd consider a 1700x but other than that it should be really good for what you're doing. That is exactly what ryzen was made for.
