Question Upgrade from i5-6500 to ryzen 5 3600.

The Ryzen side inherits its infinity fabric frequency from the RAM frequency. Higher RAM clock = higher infinity fabric clock, so you get more gains than just having faster RAM.

I would say that isn't enough of an upgrade to drop cash on, personally.

You mean the ram right? I got a couple of friends that told me I should wait a little bit until ryzen 4 is released. What do you think?

Probably, the rumor mill indicates being DDR5 and PCIE5 on a different socket like AM5 at that point on 5nm. They should skip USB4 for USB5 and launch it on 5/5. :p
Dang, that probably means that we have to invest way more. I might just grab this two for now. I think is a good upgrade for my 6500
