I feel like it is time to upgrade from cpu i5-8400 (which I have from 2018) but I am wondering how far to go - I would like to reuse my DDR4 (though bit old - 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX / CL15 / 3000mhz) and will be still using 3060ti (at least for year or two).
I was thinking about two options:
Benefit of option A is that I can use my current CPU cooler BeQuite! Pure Rock 2 Slim which should be well enough for 12400f. So option A is approximately 140 EUR cheaper than option B. But B is more recent and maybe more "future proof"...? But is it really giving that much more performance so it would be worth it that 140 EUR?
I would like to use new set up another 4-5 years again.
I do some light programming (java, c#) and then causal gaming - rather simulation and strategy games e.g. Cities: Skylines, Civ 6 .... but of course I like to spend time with games like RDR2, Far Cry or Assassin's Creed too. I play in 1440p but I am not in rush for 140 fps or something like that
I'll be grateful for any advice
P.S. My MOBO pick is based on good reviews and that it has wifi and suitable set of USB ports for me.
edit: i am choosing between 12400f and 13400f actually.
