[SOLVED] Upgrade from i5 to i7

Hello im wondering if i can upgrade my processor/cpu from a intel(R) core(tm) i5-4460 3.20ghz to a i7 if this is possible, and if so what i7 model is compatible with my computer?

That is a fourth gen i5, so only a fourth gen i7 might work if your mobo supports it

A 90-series motherboard should also support the mythical Broadwell / 5000-series CPUs.

Unless your board has a power limit for the process, buy a decent cooler to go with it.

On a site i check out from time to time got upgrade kits for computers, like upgrading the processors kit which include a motherboard cooler and of course the cpu and maybe something else and a installation guide. Here i found 2 different ones 1 ryzen and 1 intel core upgrade kit. Maybe these works. EDIT: Of course i have to first check and see if my computer can handle this and the extra power, but i will check next time i get a chance.

All you'd be keeping is the case and storage drives.

Yes but atleast this is cheaper from buying a new case and new graphics cards and so on. These two kits cost around 800 dollars and a new computer with the same specs cost around 1500-2000.

People want crazy prices for old I7's on ebays.
