hi, my current specs are : intel celeron g540 (2,5 ghz) ,8gb ram , gtx 650(1 gb vram).
Is it a worthwhile upgrade so that i sepnd little money on cheap cpu and invest more money on a better graphics card,or should i go for a better cpu?
What do you suggest for gaming?

well i have found an i7 920 for 50 euros while the cheapest i5 is around 200 euros,is it better investing the rest of money for a better graphics card or not?

If you will game, yes, at 1080p with a R7 260X (2GB version) ($100-130) is more than enough for medium-high settings. Look also prices of R7 265 GTX 750 Ti and R9 270 (from worst to best), if their are in your 150€ budget, yes, I reccomend upgrading the GPU. Last ones will allow to max out settings at 1080p (or almost depending on the game)

Really depends on what you want to do. when comparing an i7 to other processors within it's architecture does not always have noticeable gains in performance with typical workloads, including most games. If you want to play games then an i5 or even i3 can do just as good in many titles.
Say you do get a new processor, are you getting a new Motherboard as well or sticking with the LGA 1155 board yo have?

Edit note: "when comparing an i7 to other processors" should have been i5 and i3 SKUs . such as i3 2120 , i5 2400 and 2500 also" i7 2700k vs i5 2500k" reviews

The I7 processors from 2008 are still used widely for gaming today, and paired with a mid or low-range GPU makes a perfect combination. Upgrading to a current-gen I7 would require a new motherboard. The 4th Gen I7 processors have much higher base frequencies and have a higher IPC. Overall, they are a lot stronger but if you're not looking to spend a ton those $50 ones from 2008 are actually good deals.

Sorry , i might have gone off topic in the other post.
If you stay with LGA 1155 and you do not plan on overclocking , an i5 3550 or i5 3570 is enough to play any game out and match most high end GPUs. Though they might be hard to find now, for as cheap as they were anyway. the i5 3570k still retails almost everywhere.
