Upgrade from Intel core i3-2100 to i7-3770 black screen problem

Hello everyone,

I recently decided that my computer needed an upgrade and I found the I7-3770 to be powerful and decided to buy it. I replaced the CPUs carefully and when I tried to boot the computer with the i7 the computer gave me a black screen with nothing. I decided to try my old CPU again and the computer started and worked perfectly.
I have read for several hours on solutions for CPU and some suggest BIOS update, which I can't find.

BIOS: AMI 7.09
Motherboard: Foxconn 2ABF
Chipset: Intel Sandy bridge rev 09
Southbridge: Intel H61 rev B3
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6450

I am lost and I have no idea what to do, hope that I could get a solution would appreciate it alot.

It only supports the lower wattage 3770T andd 3770S, not th 3770, you should have read the manual before buying the cpu.

It doesn't even support them. It only supports sandy bridge CPU's.

Thank you for the reply, will one of these work then? INTEL I5-2320 or INTEL I5-2500.

btw this guy: http://hardware.moftalk.com/my-motherboard-can-support-an-ssd-X7HgtL0P.html he has the same motherboard and uses the i7-3770, is this possible still?

Unless there is some bios update out there, that allows for it, I would say no, on the 3770. Your board only officially supports 65w sandy bridge cpus. http://ark.intel.com/products/codename/29900/Sandy-Bridge#@Desktop
