I built my computer back in 2012 and have to say it went very well! It's been humming ever since with very little problems. But I think it's time to consider upgrading my GPU. Multiple programs now create some jerkiness. Streaming video is jerky when I'm doing some rendering in other programs like Photoshop and Sketchup. Sketchup take a little more time to boot up and rendering is sometimes quite slow for more complex 3D work.

I current have the Nvidia Quadro 2000 and the following is my current setup:

  1. Motherboard - Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3
  2. CPU - Intel Core i7-2700K CPU @ 3.50 GHz
  3. RAM - 16 GB (I'm considering upgrading to 32 GB)
  4. Running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
  5. Power Supply - Corsair HX650W
  6. 2 SATA hard drives
  7. C: drive - Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500 GB
I use my computer for:
  • CAD
  • Sketchup
  • Sketchup rendering
  • Some graphics (photoshop) and very basic video rendering
  • Internet and streaming
  • NO gaming.
Looking for a decent upgrade but maybe under $300? Or thereabouts.

....one more thing.

I'm running (2) 24"monitors and will probably upgrade 1 of them to to a 32" IPS. Probably not 4K but would definitely be nice to run 2560 x 1440 smoothly.

Thanks.

Suggestions very well appreciated.

Thank you in advance, TH Community.
