I need more fps for gaming sitting at 25-50, and looking for minimal investment to reach 100+. The stats for my pre-built Asus are:
AMD FX-8310
DDR3 8GB
AMD Radeon R7 240 2GB
HDD 2TB
I greatly appreciate your feedback. Would putting in a R9 270 do it? Would there be PSU issues?

Well if you are ok with dropping down quality settings, a 1050 Ti ($140) and a decent PSU could be got for under $200. Thing is, that CPU may be holding you back, So I would really recommend upgrading your CPU and motherboard when you get the chance. But it should be good for now.

Are you in the US? If so, check this out:

Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Mini Video Card ($137.10 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($64.97 @ Newegg)
Total: $202.07
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts...

Oh, being that it is prebuilt, even form Asus, it may not be enough. I would recommend getting a new one as well. Hopefully it is not propitiatory. What's your budget?

If you want to spend $40 more (still in budget), and get the RX 470, then that would really help. For $30 more, you can get a nice mid-level GPU as well.

Ah goold ol Virginia. I stayed in VA Beach before moving to Oklahoma City. Miss it dearly. But you should be good with the list I left. With the added GPU, you should be able to enjoy decent frame rates adding with extra quality.
