i have read many threads on the whole 3570k vs 4670k idea, but i cant seem to find much of an answer for my question. I have a Phenom II x4 955, and i want to upgrade my processor and be as future proof as possible. As of now both the 3570k and the 4670k are the exact same price, with the 1150 mobo's generally being around 10 dollars more which i see as negligible. I understand the general consensus that overclocking is better on 3570k. But as i am trying to future proof as much as possible, should i just go with the 4670k anyways soley because the mobo will have the newest slot? or are they just gonna change the slot the next gen after haswell? My GPU is a saphire dual-x 7970 and my X4 955 is bottlenecking it hardcore. I should also mention that i currently have this CPU coolerhttp://
Since i am planning on not upgrading for quite a while after this, i cant seem to decide which to go with. If OCing is really the best way to futureproof, and the fact that i dont have a liquid cooler, then perhaps i should get the 3570k?

Solution
Overlocking then Ivy bridge: 3570k
More Sata6 and lower overclocking then Haswell: 4670k

Also Haswell has a better selection of motherboards, a large advantage to haswell are more native Sata 6 ports allowing further SSD developments. With a more powerful processor, I would suggest going Haswell. Personally.
