Lately, I am having the following problems that I think can be solved by upgrading just the GPU:
1. In 3D software, faces are drawn that are not there (weird visual bugs)
2. Games can only be played on very low settings
3. When using 3D software over Remote desktop, software is very slow (internet speed on both computers is ~2 MB/s)

In the future I might want to play around as well with VR.

I was thinking of upgrading my current build with the GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 (price difference seems not to be too high). If a significant improvement, I can consider GTX 1080ti as well.
Is it 'smart' to update my build with either of these cards (with respect to processor, etc.)?

With kind regards,

The 1060 has very good price to performance currently but if yiu want the extra performance go for a 1070, because a 1080 cost too much money. Maybe look at the new GTX 1070 Ti, I dont now to much about the 1070 TI, but I think it's the sweet spot between the 1070 and 1080.

Thank you for the response Matthew.

All these cards (1070 / 1080 (Ti)) will lead to no problems with my current CPU / Motherboard?
I do not know what specifications I should check to know this.
