To start, some modern day comparisons - an R9-390 is roughly equivalent to a GTX1060 6GB, RX480, RX580, GTX1650 Super.

MSI RX5700 Gaming X = €390 would be roughly2x faster than your current card, and is well suited for 1440p resolution gaming.

I'm linking both charts using the GTX1070 as a commonality.

For 1080p 144hz, in modern titles, you are going to need more, than what your budget will allow. 4c/4t gaming is essentially dead, so you would need CPU and GPU. Problem, CPU side, is your only real upgrade is a 7700k, which can cost as much, if not more than, as the similar performing Ryzen 3 3300x, and an MSI B450 max series motherboard.

So better building a new pc? I prefer to build a long lasting system where i can upgrade it in case, even if it means to build a whole new pc.

Indeed, [especially] for multiplayer games, 4 cores/threads is starting to produce a sub-optimal experience.

Your RAM, PSU, HDD, SSD, and Case are all reusable, so for a full refresh, you're looking at a new CPU+mobo+GPU.

IF you're going to do a CPU+mobo upgrade, I'd wait for AMD B550 boards to launch on June 15. We can re-assess at that time.
