Hi everyone. I was wondering whether I should upgrade my ram or gpu first. If I went with the RAM, I would probably get a new case too because it would be cheaper.

Current RAM: 8gb DDR4 2666 MHz
Current GPU: MSI Radeon RX 570 Series

Which of these would have the biggest effect on my performance?

Solution
Consider your changes carefully.

A 3060 will also need a stronger psu:

Here is the motherboard support list for pinnacle ridge, max is 3200 speed:

Try this simple test:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

What gpu are you planning on getting? What FPS do you want to run? 144HZ? 4k/2k?
What is your current CPU?

Generally speaking, I feel like if you upgrade your GPU, your ram will be a restriction, 8gb just isnt enough now days.

I reckon keep the same ram, just add another 8GB stick, and upgrade your GPU at the same time.

Okay, heres the specs:
Mobo: Gigabyte B450m DS3H micro ATX
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor
PSU: Evga 400w
Monitor: LG 27ML600M/MN60T 1920x1080 75HZ.
I want to get 100+ frames usually, and just a speedier computer overall.
