is it worth getting the gtx 1060 6 gb now.I currently have the gtx 960 paired with the fx 6300 3.5 ghz. that's my problem, the fx 6300 which i know it'll be bottlenecking the gtx 1060 if i will get it .But my question is that if the fps with the gtx 1060 paired with fx will be better than what i have now with the 960 and fx at 1080p resolution?im going to play all the games that will come out + the games that are already out..i also have a ssd and i cant overclock my fx cause my mobo isnt a good overclocker.

Solution
Yes. The GTX 1060 is noticeably faster than the GTX 960. With that said, your larger issue is with your CPU as you noted. It won't bottleneck and hold you back from seeing a difference after upgrading the GPU, but you could absolutely benefit from overclocking the FX 6300 or overclocking an FX 8000 series CPU (8320 / 8350).

What MB do you have? Even the cheaper 760 chipset motherboards will allow a slight overclock on the FX processors. An aftermarket CPU cooler is needed, but pretty cheap ($25).

Some games are cpu limited and some are graphics limited.

Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

the mobo is asrock 980 de3 u3/s3 r 2.0 and i already have an aftermarket cooler my temps in gaming wont pass over 40 degrees. And im especially worried about bf1 in terms of bottlenecking and fps in the open beta with some oc-ing on the gtx 960 i had like 55-90 fps on 64 players server on ultra settings 1080p

i;ve tried that and im some games im cpu limted in others im not

a 1060 6 gb card is roughly a 980 in performance which is a large step up from the 960 you have. if you want an idea what to expect look for some benchmarks of the 980 paired with the 6300 cpu you have. will give you a good idea what to expect. but expect a good bit better with the gpu upgrade. the cpu won't hold it back that much to not net a good solid 1080p gaming gain :)

for a list of all the cards with specs and reviews where available see here http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3047729/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1000-series-megathread-faq-resources.html#17902600

You are in good shape for overclocking. With that low of temps at stock settings, you should have no issues getting to a straight 4.0GHz (or a bit higher) with an aftermarket CPU cooler. Follow the guides for overclocking the FX series, but you are just looking at a slight multiplier increase along with a CPU voltage bump... Be sure to run the stress tests and check temps at full load for stability.

and if i wont oc the bottleneck will be bad?
