Please people,

I need upgrade my HD and I do not want to reinstall everything again!

I know I can mirror the old and new HDs and remove the old one.

Is there another way?

thanks

I have used Norton Ghost 2003 to do that. I had WinXP installed on "C"
which was a 40 GB Western Digital. I removed my "D" hard drive and
installed my new 200 GB Western Digital hard drive in "D" position.
(All temporary with the new drive propped up on a small box.) Then I
used Norton Ghost 2003 to make a clone of "C" to "D". Then I removed
"C" and replaced it with the new clone. Horrors, it wouldn't boot. So I
used the WinXP installation CD to do a repair installation. Everything
then worked perfectly, no loss of any data or programs.

You could image to a 2nd hard drive and then restore the image to a
replacement drive. I use Ghost 2003 and have my C and D drive in removable
drive trays. I use D for occasional images of C and a 2nd place to keep my
changeable data.
