Question Upgrade help

Hi all, I’m thinking of upgrading my motherboard so that I can connect my front type c. I don’t have a spare socket on the actual motherboard. I did buy the small part which plugs into somewhere else on the board but it’s taken up by something else

I currently have

3200 DDR4 32gb across 4 lanes

what would be a good motherboard to choose next?
It needs to have
Onboard type c for front socket and rear
7 Sata ssd sockets

Which CPU do you have? It's difficult to recommend a board, when you do not know if it will be compatible.

Not sure on which board would be better for me, I would prefer my board now but with the extra slot

Sorry for not coming back to this sooner. Been sick the past few days.

The problem with getting a board, with what you want, that will work with that CPU really would cost more than it's really worth spending on a 2700x.

For a similar price, you could do a B550 board, and an R5 5600, which is quite a bit faster than your 2700x, in all respects.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve ordered the expansion card from Amazon 👍 is that Ryzen 5 much better than my Ryzen 7? Would it improve my system for gaming, photoshop and a bit of 3ds max?

So the Ryzen 5 scores better than the R7 2700x, I’m surprised 👍 is it big enough to notice?

In very CPU heavy titles, definitely. For example, as a WoW player, even at 1440p, I saw a boost going from a 3700x to a 5800x, with only a 2060, which isn't massively faster than what you have now. My min FPS really jumped, so less stutter.

If I order the 5800x and overclock to 4.6, will I still be able to have my memory overclocked? I don’t touch my graphics card as it seems to misbehave when overclocking it.

so mainly sim racing , odd bash on battlefield and cod. Msfs now and again, but usually photoshop.
This will be better for me 👍 also can the actual 1660 super be overclocked with everything else working harder?

6650xt is a bit faster, and cheaper.
