Hi,

I would like some advices for my upgrade ( because is reach the point where I was limited by my cpu in Assassin's screed ).

I do hesitate between those two build (motherboard + cpu) because they seem to be a good quality/price ratio.

- ASUS Maximus VIII Hero Carte Mère Intel Z170 ATX Socket 1151
- i5 7600k

or

- AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- MSI AMD X370

My graphic card is a gtx 970 kf2a sniper edition fyi.

If the community could give me some advice about the upgrade I should make ( around 300 euros ) it would be apreciated ! :)

thanks

For the Intel Line, you are overspending on the motherboard. The 7600k is a generation back. The new 8th Gen core is where you want to be.

Both motherboard, for the Ryzen side and Intel side, will require a BIOS update before putting in those chips. You also need DDR4 RAM.

For the 7600k, you also need to buy a CPU Cooler, as the chip does not come with one.

You either need to increase your budget or look for other chips.

NOTE: For the Ryzen build just above, you will need a BIOS update on the mobo before putting in the new CPU. However, you can contact AMD for a bootkit for this.

Thank you for the anwser !

So I will go for this build ( I did not knew about the ddr4 ram on new MB generation) :
- Gigabyte x470 aorus ultra gaming( to avoid the waiting of the update) 149€
- Ballistix Sport LT BLS2C8G4D26BFSE 16Go Kit (8Gox2) 175€
- RYZEN5 2600 145€

I'm not sure about eveything but it seems good to me with what you said (I bought it just before your comment) and your memory is a lot cheaper does it change anything ?

It is a good build. RAM is at 2666Mhz but optimal performance for Ryzen is 3000 Mhz. If you can OC the RAM, do it. But you will do just fine otherwise.

Enjoy the build.
