Hi

Im currently sitting with an e5200 pentium dual core cpu oc @ 3.6ghz and 2 gb ram and a 4850 512mb and im having alot of trouble trying to play with decent graphics in gta iv, far cry 2, crysis etc. and im thinking of doing a upgrade so that i can atleast play those with decent graphics my res is 1680x1050 (i wanna atleast use 4x aa and on high, if possible very high on these games)

since the games take advantage of cpu's im thinking of doing a combo with an core i5 750 and a 5850 or i could do a gtx 480 upgrade with an corsair 850w psu and 2gb more ram

my psu is a xion 500w 18/17 amps(2x 12v)
my mobo is an asus p5kpl/1600 it has a pci express 1.1 according to their site

in my budget i could also do an complete new system with an core i7 920 and 4gb ram and p6t mobo and a 650w corsair psu and then next year do a gpu upgrade but then i wouldn't be able to enjoy gaming, i do alot of winrar extracting and a little encoding so a new cpu would boost that aswell.

If there is a better combo pls tell me my budget is about 800 USD(but in swedish money 6400kr) if not then please tell me what i should go for.

Thanks in advance for your help! :) :)

The Core i5 750 would be more than enough for your needs and so is a HD5850, I would recommend you go for the Core i5 750 + 5850 option as modern games take advantage of more than 2 cores + it leaves your system more balanced compared to a E5200 and GTX480 build.

You'll need a new PSU though, that xion won't be up to the job.

My suggestions:

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128425
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220407
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161330

Total: $820, slightly over budget, but I didnt really shop around for the best deals.

tnx for your help but the parts are a bit more expencive here in sweden all that would have cost 915.70 USD way above my budget, the 5850 shouldn't use more power than my 4850? i can only do a i5 750+2gb 1333mhz+GA-H55M-S2H+5850 for my budget here if im going to go for the i5+5850 combo that is...

Core i5 for 194 USD and gtx 480 for 500 USD and corsair 850 for125 looks to be really nice..but if u buy i5 then u will need new mobo and ram which exceed ur budget.so i think u go for i5and 5850 combo.

tnx for your help but i5 cost 247 USD as cheapest here gtx 480 cost 594 USD as cheapest here and a corsair 850 cost 160 as cheapest here
