this is likely because he's using an sli config. There have been many articles and threads in regards to some of the problems that people are having with the newer game titles on sli configs. I'm not sure about BF4, but there are scaling issues with many other new games that cause utilization issues and other things along those lines.

He also doesn't show cpu usage. I know that in certain games, like WoW for example, there are times where my 970 is around 50-60% usage, but my cpu usage is around that same utilization. It's just the way the games are optimized sometimes.
There are a lot of hardcore gamers out there running sli on z97 I don't think you'll be held back by your cpu I would get the second 970 and see but I really think you'll enjoy the results. I'm sure plenty of more knowledgeable guys can back me up on this.

Idk what that video is talking about but i can tell you right now without a doubt that a 970 will not be bottlenecked in any way by a 4770k. Switching to a 5820k and x99 is in no way worth it for a gamer you will see very little to no performance increase in gaming.

Honestly, if you're going to go sli, you have no reason to upgrade your cpu. The 4790k is going to be able to handle the newest games and sli configs for quite some time. I didn't see this guy's fps dip below 99 fps, with his frames mostly above 120. What exactly is the problem? There is no bottlenecking happening at all here. Your setup is even faster than his. Upgrading at this point is up to you, but in my opinion, would be a huge waste of money. You're going to have to practically upgrade your whole config in order to achieve maybe a 4-5% increase in performance, which, to be quite honest, you're not going to notice.

If, somehow, a 4790k was bottlenecking in a game a 5820k will not fix it. The 5820k just has more cores that the game will not make use of. Plus the 4790k has a better single threaded performance thanks to its higher clock speed, so it in theory should outperform the 5820k in current games. Going from a 4790k to a 5820k for games is just a big waste of money.

Something is wrong with his system. I know for a fact that a 4770k will not bottleneck a 970 in any game out right now. A 4th gen i3 barley bottlenecks a 970 in most games never mind that i7.
