Last year I bought HyperX Savage HX430C15SBK2/8 memory. It's a set of 2x4 GB, timings CL 15, speed on XML profile up to 3000 MHz. Now I want to upgrade the set to 16 GB. Unfortunately they went EOL and were replaced by HX430C15SB2K2/8. Almost the same but, regarding to the specification, on XML profile they have other timings.
HX430C15SB2K2/8 - XMP Profile #1: DDR4-3000 CL15-17-17 @1.35V
HX430C15SBK2/8 (actually using by me) - XMP Profile #1: DDR4-3000 CL15-16-16 @1.35V

The question is - can I buy the new ones? After a contact with HyperX tech support they told me to buy completely new set of 16 GB because there can be a problem with compatibility.

Even if you bought the exact same stick it would be a toss up. Higher speed ram is less likely to work in a mixed kit. I still "might" work at the slower timings but there's probably a good chance it would not work at 3000mhz cl 15 at all, and a small chance they won't work together at any speed
