Upgrade L5520 suggestions please

I have a Thinkstation 20 (got it for $100 for some studies that have come and gone), and I want to upgrade the processor to something more usable such as an arcade machine running emulators and made another service on the side. I don’t need a storage server. Can anyone point out some worth while upgrade to the CPU that has better single thread performance, but not going to cost a huge $800’s cost. I did find this site with some results, but I don’t know whether or not to trust it because the X5570 looks good with what looks like nearly 36% better in single core performance and only ~$36-40 each.

The Thinkstation D20 has its original motherboard, 12GB DDR3 ram, hdd storage I put in, a 4 sata pci card I put in (I could not find any drivers for the marvell sata ports for any OS and they would not respond).

The site you've found has some legitimate data. Has helped me upgrade quite a few rust buckets What is teh type on yur Workstation? I'm asking for the SKU/model number for the Thinkstation 20.

The only thing I can find is Thinkstation D20. The Server Store (where I bought it) did not have an exact model number beyond the title.

I feel slightly like an idiot and did find this link with a long bit of digging in Google. Going to require a bit of cost-performance gain comparison though :/ so much work
