Upgrade laptop motherboard?

Hello,
since I've got to do some upgrades on my laptop (Asus Vivobook PRO N752VX) I was wondering If there's any way to upgrade the motherboard.

I know laptop motherboards are peculiar and they're not really upgradable but I want to ask you guys if it's possible to get an external motherboard that would connect to all the parts (RAM, CPU, not necessarily GPU and drives). It's sort of crazy, just wanted to ask though.

Well, you could use a mini-ITX system, but you wouldn't be able to connect to the laptop display. Assuming you have the right RAM you can use that and the drives with it. As for the CPU, that one isn't likely to be possible. Those are more often than not soldered down to the laptop motherboard.

As for upgrading the motherboard in the laptop, you aren't likely to see an appreciable gain in performance. Most of those boards are specifically built for that model and as far as ASUS is concerned I couldn't upgrade my laptop's motherboard (a Q303) without also upgrading the display, so you may have other components that are not compatible even if the board fits into the casing.

Chances are not good that you can just drop a board into it and it work.

Ok, I get it.
So you're saying that you were able to change your motherboard but you had to change the display as well, that could be a good deal. However, tell me if I'm wrong, this is just about taking out the motherboard and the CPU, put the CPU on the new motherboard, plug the drives and the ram into the motherboard and you're done. So the Laptop will just be a "case" for the HDD/SSD and the RAMs with all the other pieces on the outside, am I right?

Or are you saying that I could put the mini-ITX into the laptop case and just connect another monitor? (obviously connecting all the parts)

No, you could take some of the laptop components and use them in a separate ITX system. Sorry if that was confusing.
