Hi mate , no sorry you can't use DDR3 RAM using that motherboard. It only accepts DDR2. Also you can use any graphics card you want but the card performance will be held back if you use a wrong lane & old DDR2 RAM. Also that motherboard can't support Intel Core 2 Duo or an i5. Best for games would be a fast Core 2 Quad processor. Also if you want a new motherboard & videocard. You'd have to buy new ram & new cpu. So best advice is build a new system in whole otherwise wont be worth it.

Hope I helped :)

What is your budget? What is the exact model of Power Supply?

Always a tough call to put money into an older computer or upgrade everything.

But the upgrade from HD 4350 1 GB to HD 7770 for $129.99 at Newegg is a good performer for the price. There is also, a $20 rebate, but some people don't like the paper work.

Of course, it needs PCI-express x16 slot and the slot next to it, because it is a double wide card.

It also needs one 6 pin power connector.

Just because a processor has a high clock speed doesn't make it good. Back when I first started building computers AMD had processors like the AMD ATHLON 64 3700+ and the clock speed was low but it beat the snot out of Pentium 4's at the time well the socket 939 did at the time. Point is he is after a better gaming performance. If he sticks with a 775 platform he will then have a continued bottleneck from his CPU. Even if he were to overclock he would need some serious cooler to push enough into that CPU to make it worth a darn.

Couple of things to think about
1. How much money you are wanting to put into your system
Option One the quick and cheap:
1. A10 5800k $120.00 Supplies the graphics card.
a. Motherboard. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157339 $89.99
b. Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231460 $49.99
C. Total Cost $285

Or he could go with a i5 platform
CPU i5: $220 or around
motherboard: $140.00 or around
memory: $40 or around
Total cost: $400.00 Estimate
+ a video card if you wanted to add one.
