Hi i currently have an i3 2120 with an asus OC edition gtx 570 my power supply is 600w and 80 certified.. which has been great for me so far on my first build, but i would likie to play battlefield 4 and titanfal soon (i decided to sell my ps4 and stick with pc instead,

(i couldn't justify £50 a game where on steam i could get 15 or more great games)

is it worth upgrading my cpu to the i5 2500k and sticking with the gtx570 or upgrading both my cpu and gpu to a gtx 760, will i see good gains, so there's a few Q) really thanks for your help guys

If you can pick up the 2500k for a good price, and you have a z68/z77 board then go for it. The gtx 570 is still decent, but BF4 hits the CPU hard, especially in multiplayer.

Remember, its easyer to get around a GPU bottleneck by reducing the graphical settings, its much harder with a CPU bottleneck.

ok thanks i originally got an i3 2120 as it was the cheapest for performance at the time and not alot of games were benefitting from 4 cores - would i get fps gains if i only changed cpu to a 2500k? and keeped my gtx 570 its the one with the huge fans that takes up 3 pci slots thats supposed to be a beast to overclock but that is two years old now

Hi guys i only upgraded my cpu in the end and WOW its like having a new gpu as well, I'm getting at least 25 fps gains in my games very impressed crysis 3 on high sttings with the shadows and shading turned down i am getting 60 -80 fps!! with the i3 2120 i was getting 30-50

Think I might leave my gpu upgrade until the January sales thanks guys

You should read the thread, he has already gotten and fitted the 2500k

so he changes over to amd and gets a new cpu and mobo altogether. you call that budget???

I'm very happy with my choice as it has allowe me to enjoy new and older games on max settings with a two year old card i haven't overclocked it yet but its supposed to be a beast - apparently upto 50% faster 🙂
